Here’s an excerpt of a page from the White House website.
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
Is this serious? Did we suddenly wake up in 1984? The novel… not the year.
I would love to know what Obama’s supporters would have said if Bush suggested you rat out your friend’s emails or if you see something on the web that was “fishy” report it directly to the fucking Federal Imperial Government!
President Obama explained this today as trying to “be open”. Really? Read that paragraph again and tell me if it sounds like the voice of Dr. Phil, or rather, Darth Vader.
In the novel 1984, the three slogans for the ruling party were, “War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength.” The Beefboy would like to add “Truth is Disinformation” to the new ruling party slogans. Apparently, we are now subject to being reported to the government for our discourse. Does this foster “openness” (maybe Obama means Glasnost from the USSR?) or does this truly create the “chill wind” that Tim Robbins was so concerned about years ago?
I think the language about the Health Care bill coming from both President Obama and congress is contradictory, amorphous and convoluted at best. In fact I’d call it downright FISHY! Maybe we should report their speeches to “flag@whitehouse.gov”!
And by all means, send the Beefboy Rants to the White House. I need the publicity!
Dig it!
