Star Wars: Clone Wars on the Cartoon Network is the best incarnation of Star Wars since The Empire Strikes Back. Period. In fact, it’s the best thing that Lucas has had his name on for the past quarter of a century. Clone Wars is fun and clever, something the last three Star Wars movies seriously lacked. The Jedi battle scenes finally deliver what fans have been wishing for since Luke first turned on his father’s Light Saber.
And frankly, the cartoon version of Anakin Skywalker has more charisma than Hayden Christianson. That’s not necessarily a knock on Christianson. After all, Lucas managed to make Liam Neeson, Ewan McGreggor and Samuel L. Jackson into pieces of wood, and those guys are the best in the business!
The second season of Clone Wars is coming soon, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us! Here’s a preview of season two.

I tune in the the Cartoon Network at 9 pm for Adult Swim and I always catch the last five minutes of the same episode of Star Wars: Clone Wars. Seriously, it’s every day.
Apparently Cartoon Network hates you.
“it’s the best thing that Lucas has had his name on for the past quarter of a century” well I’m going to disagree only slightly. I also believe that the Clone Wars is fantastic and just what is needed to keep this franchise alive but I also wanted to give a special nod to “The Force Unleashed” video game. If you’ve not played it or don’t know the story in it I feel you are truly missing out. George had nothing to do with the project other than to say “it needs to include specific elements” and the team working on it created what I feel could be one of the most epic vision of the Star Wars universe since the universe was created. If the story in the game made it’s way to the big screen I believe all would be forgiven for the prequals.
I’ve heard a lot about “The Force Unleashed” but I admit that I haven’t played it. I think at this point, anything that is further away from Lucas’ direct micromanaging influence is going to be better by default.
I don’t really want to beat up on Lucas, I love the world he gave us, but somewhere between the first series of movies and the second series I think a lot of things changed personally for him.
I also think that he got a little too isolated and should have found some trusted friends to help, particularly with the dialogue. Someone should have kicked him in the nuts over the midi-chlorian idea.
Sounds like I need to play some Force Unleashed!
Definately. I would like to believe that he felt painted into a corner by the fans and tried to give them what they wanted. Unfortunately I don’t believe he “listened” to the fans when making his journey into the prequals. I still love the entire series and will forever be a fan of the Star Wars universe and feel for it’s prosperity Lucas has to let go. If Lucas can trust his people to continue his legacy I belive the force will be with us, always.
Let’s not forget how much better Star Trek: The Next Generation got when Gene Roddenberry passed. Heck the latest Star Trek film would never have happened with Roddenberry on the set.
It’s time for Lucas to let go and collect a fat paycheck to hand over to his kids. We all want the TRUE sequels to the first Star Wars movies and Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill are not getting any younger.
